Note: the ALIGN TREX 500 LXKit contains all the available KDE Direct upgrades for the 500/500ESP series
helicopters, including the extreme-performance KDE Direct 1708H/1Y-N42 HP Brushless Motor.
Flight performance testing utilized the Castle Creations Phoenix brand of ESCs, running the latest v3.2 firmware. In
particular, the Castle Creations Phoenix ICE 100 ESC was used for development and the following setup is
recommended for a powerful and efficient 3D setup:
LiPo Voltage: 6S (22.2V running voltage)
Gearing Ratio: 10.125 (stock 162T/MOD0.6 Main Drive Gear H50018 and 16T/MOD0.6 Pinion Gear H50063)
Governed Headspeed: 2650 to 2850 rpm
-- Warning: governor control must be enabled with the included gearing to prevent excessive headspeed --
Recommended Castle Creations ESC Settings:
Throttle Type: Governor Mode (Note: if using the "Set RPM" mode, Motor kV = 1430 and Magnetic Poles = 8)
Governor Gain: Low (15) to Medium (25)
Motor Timing: Low (0) to Normal (5)
PWM Rate: 16kHz
