Humanitarian Drone Efforts

Many of today’s humanitarian efforts employ UAVs to aid in everything from telemedicine to disaster response. Here are some of the ways humanitarian drones are changing the industry - and the world. Drones for Medicine Many hospital firms have several facilities within the same area and need to transport diagnostic or blood samples from one to the other frequently. The speed and reliability of these deliveries are critical for the health of patients, and lives can be endangered if transfers don’t happen as quickly as possible. Brushless Vs. Brushed Motors

The biggest difference between brushed and brushless motors, unsurprisingly, is the brush. But what does that really mean? The principle behind the internal workings of brushed and brushless motors are otherwise much the same. When motor windings become energized, a temporary magnetic field is created to repel or attract permanent magnets. This magnetic force is converted to shaft rotation, allowing the motor to do work. As the shaft rotates, the electric current is routed to different sets of windings, maintaining electromotive repulsion or attraction, forcing the rotor to continually rotate. The History of Brushed and Brushless Motors Brushed DC motors...

Drones on Mars | To Boldly Go Where No Rover Has Gone Before

If NASA’s Mars rover can make groundbreaking scientific discoveries (like the fact that Mars had conditions to support life) on wheels alone, think of what we can accomplish by taking to the skies. NASA is in the planning process of its 2020 Mars rover mission, following the massive success of the Curiosity rover. When the next rover heads to Mars a few years from now, it’s likely that it will be accompanied by a drone to help expand our understanding of the planet’s landscape. NASA and Drones Drones have been exceptionally useful for investigating areas of our planet that are...
